Arlo recently added HomeKit support to the Arlo Pro 3 security camera via a firmware update.
With this update to the VMB4540 version, available from Wednesday, Arlo’s security camera will support Apple’s HomeKit platform. In this way, we will be able to see the cameras inside the Home app and use the motion sensor to activate scenes and other accessories whenever motion is detected.
Arlo Pro 3 includes support for recording 2K UHD video with HDR support, 160 degree field of view to capture more detail and also monitor peripheral areas and color night vision via the integrated Spotlight, a beam of light that lights up when necessary to illuminate even the darkest corners.
At the moment, only the support for HomeKit and not for HomeKit Secure Video, which instead would also allow the recording of videos directly on iCloud. Currently, users will have to rely on Arlo’s cloud services for remote video storage.
The Arlo Pro 3 video surveillance system is available for purchase on Amazon.
